Day 100: Douglas Fir Book

day 100: douglas fir book

This laser-cut book design features Pseudotsuga menziesii, the state tree of Oregon and personal favorite. These trees are massive both in size and in biological influence, contributing to the remarkable ecosystems of the Pacific Northwest.  Mark Dion, a guest scholar at ASU this week, installed a friend of the Doug fir in his Seattle Neukom Vivarium: read all about it and watch the ART:21 video here.   The design of this book might also remind you of the islands of the Pacific Northwest, including southeast Alaska, British Columbia, and Washington.
